The new hospital of Curacao will be called the Curacao Medical Center (“CMC”). CMC is scheduled to open in April 2019.
The cost of operating this new hospital are reported to be 25% higher than the old hospital. Hospital administrators and government officials are currently seeking ways to economize in the healthcare area to be able to afford the extra overhead.
It has been reported that generic medications will be a major area to contribute to the lowering health care costs so that the increased costs of operating the CMC can be absorbed.
